I am loving the way the actual yarn looks as the woven interlacing. So, I am preparing small 6″ X 6″ birch panels and painting the surface first and then adding the yarn onto the surface. Once the yarn is in place, then I paint each strand of yarn with the encaustic paint. Love the surface quality and the interconnectedness of the lines. This will act as studies for my larger works.
Here are 5 completed 6″ X 6″ paintings.
